Wombat Riding

Hej all and sundry

On the first day She said ‘let there be cruising’, and so it was done. And it was good.

Although on the first day (of April) it was pissing down, we went riding. I went out and bought a nice new jacket. Parky and I have been motorcycle-wear shopping and I now own the worlds warmest motorcycle jacket, completely weather-proof and suitable for at least 2 hours driving in sodding rain. I did one hour from gimhae to the german club meeting, passing through the “Forbidden Tunnel Of Changwon” underway.
The problem with the “Forbidden Tunnel Of Changwon” is that it is manned on one end only. If you are trying to drive from Changwon to Gimhae, you are in trouble right from the get-go. If on the other hand, you are driving from Gimhae to Changwon, the first time you are stopped is when you have been through the tunnel.

That said, if you are stopped, the only recourse available to the people stopping you is to inform you that you have done wrong and let you pass, or inform you have done wrong and make you go back. Unfortunately for the people who would like to make you go back (not many) is that there isn’t anywhere for you to turn around for 5km before the entrance to the tunnel or 1km after the tunnel (and that is a 4 way intersection, so you can do whatever the hell you chose by the time you get there, and go back through the “Forbidden Tunnel Of Changwon”, more than likely isn’t one of them).
I have passed the “Forbidden Tunnel Of Changwon” in both directions, on Saturday I did the easy way and got told off after the event, a few weeks ago we tried to pass the other way, got stopped at the front, told to piss off and did. We stopped by the nearest copper, asked him “what should we do?” he said, “Getting to Gimhae from here through the tunnel will take you 10 minutes, getting to Gimhae going around the mountain will take you about 2 hours, if I were you I’d make a run for it!” And we did. To the background of the screaming wench at the tollgate yelling at us that we “ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RIDE UNDER IT!” But we did.

Anyway, I’m not going to write a lot today.
Just that I did ride to Changwon.
I went to German club.
We went pistol shooting. (with this guy)
We shot 345 magnums.

We shot 9mm bertetta
We shot darts.
We drank a lot of beer.

It was a good night.

Changwon looked like this.

Tongyeong looked like this.

Lots of riding happened over the course of the weekend. I have to go to bed.
